What do you want?

And how can I help you? Those are two important questions when doing business, even if you only have an online business.

The first question is double. You can ask the question towards your customers, but before you do that, you should aks yourself that very question. What do you want? What are your goals? Do you have your goals clearly set out? The goals for your blogpost, your page, your website, your product, your business, your life? Writing out clear goals is the first step in reaching them. To have good goals, they should be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.
The second way to ask the question “what do you want” is towards your customer (if you ask it directly, use a more polite wording for maximum effect 🙂 ). Setting up a business is not going to lead you anywhere if it is not focused towards your customer. Having a product that nobody wants is useless. So the first question you need to ask yourself is what does my customer want? And next, and almost as important, how can I help him? What can I do for my customer, what can I do for my blogvisitor?

If you start asking yourself these questions, and find yourself the answers, you’re well on your way to a successful business.
