So, you would like to taste of what iOS 4.3.2 has in store for you, but you only want it jailbroken? Well, have we got news for you! Redsn0w now offers an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2!!
This jailbreak works for iPhone 4, iPhone 3Gs, iPod touch 3G/4G and iPad 1. iPad 2 is currently not yet jailbroken, but they are working hard on it.
And, too bad, but Apple has dropped support for older hardware such as the original iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2g as of iOS version 4.3. However, there might be a solution for you! More about that in a later article!

Why I love my iphone
Warning!

As said before, jailbreaking your iDevice is not supported by Apple, so everything you do after this is on your own risk!
If you depend on an Unlock, you can update your baseband to the 06.15 version. If you are on 05.14 or 05.15 or higher you have no choice but to do this to unlock. However, updating your baseband to the 06.12 version will result in lost GPS functionality.

What you need:

Download iOS 4.3.2
Download Latest iTunes
Download Redsn0w 0.9.6rc13 ( Mac, Windows)

How to actually jailbreak iOS 4.3.2:

First of all, we need to install iOS 4.3.2. Make sure you’ve downloaded all the necessary files (see above), and put them in a directory somewhere. We suggest you give it the name icantinternetrulez, but it can be anything really.
Next, plug your iPhone into your computer, and start up iTunes (the new version!). In iTunes, go to your iPhone, and on the first tab, you will see the “Restore” button. Click this button while holding down the “shift” key. This will open up the “file-dialogue”, where you can go to the newly created directory with your downloaded files. Select the iOS 4.3.2 ipsw file which you just downloaded, and let iTunes do the rest of its new install.
When your iPhone/iPad is installed with iOS 4.3.2, it is time to run RedsnOw (which you’ve downloaded and unzipped beforehand in the newly created directory, remember? 😉 ).
Start RedsnOw, and click on the “Browse” button. Here, you need to do the same as in iTunes, select the iOS 4.3.2 ipsw file, and go ahead. Redsn0w will try to verify the iOS 4.3.2 ipsw file, and when verified, give you the message, and the change to “continue”, which you should do. Redsn0w will now do its magic, and once that is done, it will present you with a few options. You can read them through and make your choice, but for now, just select “Install Cydia”.
Now we need to get your freshly jailbroken iOS 4.3.2 ipsw on your iPhone. To do this, shut down your iDevice (yes, totally power off), and connect it to your computer. Now Redsn0w will ask you to put your device into DFU mode. It has some very nice onscreen directions to help you with that, but if you like, here it is:

  • Hold the power button for 10 seconds
  • Hold the power and home button for 10 seconds
  • Release the power button while still holding the home button, and hold that home button for another 10 seconds.

Your iDevice should now be in DFU mode, and will restart.
Redsn0w will then upload and install the new kernel and ramboot on your iDevice, and will let you know when it is finished.
When it is finished, you can press the “Finish” button, and you can call yourself the proud owner of a jailbroken iOS 4.3.2 iPhone or iPad!
