The Siri functionality on an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad can do a great many things that people might be surprised with. For example, most people might not know that Siri can be used to read your text messages out loud. If you\u2019re driving in a car and get a new text message, for example, it would be dangerous to take your eyes off the road long enough to find out the message\u2019s contents. With a simple voice command, however, you can have Siri read the message\u2019s text in its entirety out loud. The idea behind<\/a> this features is fantastic and it will can be set up very easily. Getting Siri to read your text messages on an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad only requires a very specific technique.<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure that the Siri functionality of your Apple device is enabled. Open the \u201cSettings\u201d utility on your iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone and select \u201cGeneral.\u201d Tap the \u201cSiri\u201d category from the right side of the screen and make sure the \u201cSiri\u201d function is listed as \u201cOn.\u201d If Siri functionality is off, tap the word \u201cOff\u201d to switch it to read \u201cOn\u201d before continuing.<\/p>\n

Step 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Goodlucky365<\/a>Tap the green \u201cMessages\u201d icon to open the iMessage application on your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad. Select the message that you want Siri to read out loud from the list of available messages on screen. Note that if you\u2019ve just received a \u201cNew Message\u201d notification on your device\u2019s \u201cHome\u201d screen, you can skip this step.<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tap and hold the \u201cHome\u201d button on your device until the \u201cSiri\u201d box appears on screen. Your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad will also making a \u201cding\u201d noise to indicate audibly that Siri functionality is now enabled.<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/strong><\/p>\n

Say some variation of the phrase \u201cRead Message\u201d into the microphone on your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad. You can word the phrase any way you\u2019d like, so long as the words \u201cRead Message\u201d are included. For example, some people prefer to speak to Siri as if the feature were an actual person by saying \u201cSiri, read my text messages.\u201d<\/p>\n

Step 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wait a few seconds while Siri analyzes the commands you just spoke. Soon, your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad will read your new text messages out loud thanks to Siri.
