Google<\/a> Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt, who was the featured speaker at a Newhouse School event in San Francisco, said that \u201cThe goal of the company [Google<\/a>] is not to monetize everything, the goal of the company is to change the world, monetization is a way to pay for that.”<\/p>\n

He replied this on the question if Google<\/a> is actually only into “searching”, and using all else to earn more money.<\/p>\n

Schmidt also said that \u201cWe think an independent Yahoo <\/a>is better for competition, for innovation and so forth,\u201d with regards to Microsoft <\/a>trying to take over Google<\/a>. When asked about the partnership that Google<\/a> suggested to Yahoo<\/a>, Schmidt answered that this would be very structured, and never even would come close to anything breaking the anti-trust laws.<\/p>\n

I guess there is a whole lot more we can expect from Google<\/a> in the coming years… Looks promising to me!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
